Quand j’étais enseignante en musique, j’ai eu maintes fois l’occasion de me rendre compte de leurs services discrets mais efficaces.
Je leur confiais l’organisation de mes spectacles, car ceux-ci requéraient une logistique complexe.
Je me réjouissais de les voir à l’œuvre : aides impromptues, circonstances providentielles, arrivée inopinée d’un costume ou d’un décor pertinent.
J’avais ainsi demandé l’aide d’un ange pour un spectacle de Noël. Il me soutenait si manifestement que je voulus lui donner un nom. Je lui ai demandé de me le dire, et ce qui me vint à l’esprit fut «Trompette». C’était parfait pour un spectacle musical, et surtout ce nom me remémorait les anges qui chantaient Gloria à Noël. Je n’en ai parlé à personne, mais je le priais secrètement tous les jours pour qu’il me vienne en aide.
Le spectacle fut réussi.
Avant de partir pour les vacances de Noël, un élève m’apporta un cadeau. C’était une magnifique figurine évoquant un ange jouant de la trompette…

When I was still teaching music, on many occasions I had the opportunity to experience how discreet but efficient the intervention of angels was.
I would entrust them with the planning of the annual music concert, because of the complex nature of their logistics.
I was so moved to see them in action: impromptu assistance, providential circumstances, unexpected arrival of a costume or a relevant theatrical element.
I thus sought help from an angel for a Christmas concert. He supported me so obviously that I wanted to give him a name. I asked him to inspire me, and the name that came to mind was "Trumpet". It was perfect for a musical, and especially since the name reminded me of the angels singing Gloria at Christmas. I did not tell anyone, but I secretly kept praying him every day for his assistance.
The concert was a success.
Just before the Christmas break, a student brought me a gift. It was a wonderful figurine evoking an angel playing the trumpet…
What a nice gesture from Trumpet, my angel!
