….Mon Dieu, je suis parfois effrayé par la responsabilité qui m’est confiée. Je suis bien placé pour voir les enjeux et ils sont grands. Que je sois un instrument de votre gouvernance; j’aimerais tant imiter votre sagesse.

Quand je porte mon regard sur la crèche, Seigneur, je contemple votre émissaire. Vous l’avez envoyé vers nous, pour signer une nouvelle alliance avec l’humanité. Il a mené sa mission jusqu’au bout: n’ai-je pas tout à apprendre de lui?

Seigneur, faites de moi un artisan de paix, gravez en moi le souci du bien de tous. Que votre Esprit m’indique le ton juste, la parole appropriée. Que je tourne mon regard vers ce berceau et y reconnaisse le médiateur véritable.

Lord, sometimes I am frightened as I face the responsibility entrusted to me. I am in a good position to see global and important issues. Lord, you are an inexhaustible source of wisdom, so guide me in such a way that I can be a good agent of your authority.

When I look at the manger, Lord, I am full of admiration for this Infant you sent to intercede for us. You sent Him to us, to establish a New Covenant with humanity. He carried out his mission to the end: don't I have everything to learn from him?

Lord, make me an agent of your peace, engrave in my heart concern for the well being of all. May your Spirit teach me the right tone, the right words. Turn my gaze at this cradle and recognize the true mediator.
